Summary :
The Technological Museum "Ing. Eduardo Latzina" is located in the "Escuela Industrial OTTO KRAUSE" in Buenos Aires , Argentina.
It was created in 1910, because the school needed an active workshop and study, a practical teaching stage and consulting-reading room.
This Museum was named after his creator and organiser Ing. Eduardo Latzina, the second Director ot the "Otto Krause" School, who provided the institution with the resources required for the formation of engineering technicians qualified to contribute to the development of the country's industry.
Glass cases containing models, panels and graphs exhibit a wide assortment of pieces and reflect different aspects related to the design and operation of motors and machinery. Also on show is a small scale steam engine presented at the International Agricultural Exhibition held in Buenos Aires in commemoration of the country's 100th anniversary (1910). At a main place, stands a large door made of wrought iron.
The Da Vinci collection is of particular interest, since it includes models of machinery and inventions devised by this incredible Italian artist and inventor, made in Milan in 1939 by 120 scientists who presented the most comprehensive series of his masterpieces.
Also on show at the Museum are a phonograph and cylinders furnished by Thomas Edison ; an exhibition of Sheffield knives donated by the Prince of Wales in person, who visited our school in 1926, and French scale models for the teaching of natural sciences.
In the Museum pupils and people in general get intouch with the mechanisms, experiments, prototypes and with human science achievements.
"No future without
past" is our reality ; a reality where technical culture
is comprised.
